Duna da Cresmina #2 (SOLD)

This series loosely explores the methods of coffee fortune-telling or tasseography by allowing the coffee stains created on paper to reveal patterns and stories.  What may seem abstract at first takes on figurative nuances for the viewer. The artist finds a correlation between how coffee stains on paper change over time (due to their acidity), a relevant and poignant reflection of how the seas are slowly changing and being affected by human behaviour.  The works are both an appeal to save our vast oceans and a stark warning of their demise if we don’t act fast.
