Original artwork from the series Le Grand Bleu.  Fabriano acid free paper.  This series was inspired by the French film The Big Blue  (dir.  Luc Besson) which was released in some countries under the title Le Grand Bleu.  Capturing the essence of what it can feel like to be a free diver, the film debuted in 1988 and was hugely popular,  playing for a year in French cinemas.  It is said to be one of the most loved French films of the eighties. This series is a semi-abstract interpretation of the most memorable scenes for the artist.
